Applicants should have a strong interest to study the economics of climate change mitigation and to conduct economic assessments of climate and energy policies using a theory-based, quantitative approach which draws on numerical economic modelling and simulations techniques (for example, numerical general and partial equilibrium frameworks and microsimulation). Knowledge of econometrics or methods from data science are an asset, and the successful candidate should be willing to work with numerical methods as a key methodological focus. During the first two years of the appointment, the researcher will partly focus on a Horizon Europe research project examining the labor market effects of climate policies in the EU. Applicants are not expected to teach, but should be interested to develop the department’s research agenda, to contribute to an excellent publication performance and, based on rigorous academic research, to advise national and European authorities. Knowledge of German and European climate and energy policy is an asset. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of German is not essential but would be an advantage.
